Zoe stared in horror as she was transferred out of the prison van and into the sterile environment of the labs. She shouldn't have been here. She had gone undercover at a prison but she wasn't supposed to be sent to ReFormation Labs. She pleaded with the workers even as they hooked her up to the machine as she was presented in front of a mirror, behind which was a group of journalists to report on the newest part of the US Justice system.
"Behind the glass we have Danielle Livingston, convicted for smuggling and so in turn she'll be transformed into a drug sniffing dog for a police department," the lady behind the glass said. "Let's start the transformation, shall we?"
And so that's what happened. She got sprayed as fur started to sprout.
"Please! I'm Zoe Livingston! I'm a police officer and I'm not supposed to be here!" she pleaded through the glass. But then came being forced onto all fours and locked in. An arm then pulled her tailbone until it formed a nice tail. After that another arm forced its way into her mouth, pulling it into a muzzle.
Soon she was indistinguishable from any other dog as the lady explained the whole process. Zoe tried to speak out but all that came were barks.
"Now that we've gotten the physical transformation out of the way comes the two part transformation of her mind. First, it'll be the instincts of a police K9 and then after that we'll give her the mind of a dog as well." As this was explained, a mirror came down and as Zoe looked, instincts of how to sniff out drugs and other police K9 duties emerged.
Then what should have been her mind going away came and went and all that happened was her color vision faded. She realized now she was stuck and could know her fate for the rest of her life.
After she was released, she was sent, ironically, to her old department as a new K9 for their K9 unit.
