After a long game, this pawn had done what none of his brothers could: get to the end of the board. Before the game began, the queen had promised that any pawn that could get to the end of the board would be recognized as a great warrior and would become the queen's equal. There was a story between the lower pieces that if you were recognized as the queen's equal, you would get a kiss from the her (which was enough incentive for any piece to throw their lives away on the chessboard)!
To get across the board, the pawn had had many near death experiences. A knight had charged towards the pawn, only to swerve to the left at the last minute, his blade just missing the pawn's neck, and a rook had flown down right next to him and crushed one of his fellow pawns. Despite his many trials, the pawn managed to get to the other side of the board before any other could. To recognize his accomplishment, the white square he was on began to glow. He looked around and saw a few black chess pieces circling him, looking angrily at the white pawn who had managed to get behind their defences. The pawn then looked a few pieces away towards the black king, who was towering above the tiny pawn and looking down on him with scorn.
All of a sudden, the little pawn found himself growing until he was nearly eye level with the king. The pawn looked down at himself and saw the grips of his shield evaporate, his buckler falling to the floor and dissolving away. In his other hand, his sword began to shift into a sceptre. Then his chest armour began to grow out. As the chain-mail he wore began to evaporate, it revealed a pair of large breasts. His armor then began to transform into a long white dress. As his hair began to grow out and his helmet turned into a crown, the former pawn looked around and saw that nearly all of the chess pieces had expressions of surprise upon their faces. None had seen this before.
The only two that were not surprised were the queens, who both had smiles on their faces as they knew that the white king was about to get a new mistress...
