"My tail! Claire, you stepped on my tail and it fell off!"
Stacy's lizard-like claws clutched the remnant of her long tail as she glared reproachfully at Claire.
"Oh my God, Stacy, I'm so sorry, but... I was lost in thought and you're... uh... quite small. Does it hurt?"
"I'm taller than you, Claire! Okay, fine, I was taller than you until you played around with that book and gave me scales. And now you tower over me. And the only thing hurt is my pride."
"I'm working on it, Stacy, I really am... but look on the bright side! The tail grows back. Plus, we have had significantly fewer bugs in the house ever since you became... like this."
"Not funny!" Stacy said as she stormed off to sunbathe.
Claire watched her, amused. Actually, she found her roommate's new appearance incredibly cute.
