To every human, it was nothing more than an uneventful, average Tuesday. Just another day that would be forgotten as soon as the next one arrives.
If only they knew it was to be the last day of humanity.
It happened all at once. Every screen (TVs, phones, laptops, electric billboards, any screen) turned to static in a blink. Simultaneously, every speaker (radio, music-playing device, phones again, etc.) was cut off by white noise. Humanity stood confused, wondering who or what had caused such a mass disturbance.
After a few moments, the screens and speakers came back to life. On every screen were what appeared to be random clips from a family-friendly 3D animated sequel, all of which focused on two specific characters.
Suddenly, the speakers of the world began blaring out a cover of an old '90s house track. The humans were confused. Some found it funny, others awkward, and most just simply confused.
Whatever was going through their minds was quickly forgotten. Everyone’s skin dried up and became grey, while their hair fell out. Their legs shrank as their torsos grew to make up for the former. Tails popped out, ears migrated to the tops of their heads, and their digits merged together to become three. Their mouths and noses stretched and fused, becoming snouts. Many began to build up newfound muscles, though they were soon hidden under multiple layers of fat (more so with the women).
Some changes were reserved only for the males and females. Women gained more weight, most of it ending up in their bellies or ass cheeks. For the males, one of their remaining four teeth stuck out of their snouts as their eyebrows knitted together, forming unibrows.
The painful changes, the visuals blinding a hole in their eyes, the music ringing in their more sensitive ears, only made their tiny minds finally snap. What identities they once held were forgotten in favor of a carbon copy of their onscreen ideals. The broken minds began to explore their bodies. Some ran their hands over their new dry skin, others danced to the music, and others gave in to some animalistic instincts.
And thus, the world came to an end. Not with a bang, not with a whimper, but with, ‘I like to move it, move it.’
